POWERVATION EXPANDS GLOBAL PRESENCE
Company Establishes Asia Headquarters in Taiwan
PALO ALTO, Calif. and LIMERICK, Ireland, May 18, 2009—Powervation, a leading innovator of Auto-control™ digital power integrated circuits (ICs), expanded its global presence by establishing its Asia headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan. The new operation will be led by Sales Director, George Hsieh, who recently joined Powervation from Semtech Corp. The move rounds out Powervation’s worldwide infrastructure which also includes European operations in Limerick, Ireland, and US operations in Palo Alto, Calif. Regions to be served from the new Taiwan location include Mainland China, Japan, Korea and Singapore, along with Taiwan.
Powervation anticipates that the market in Asia for its new class of digital power control solutions will be considerable. The company has already established relationships with several tier-one companies that include a mix of power module makers, along with major OEMs and ODMs in the region. The new office will facilitate sales growth in the region and replicate the “close-to-the-customer” support model that Powervation has already established in Europe and the US.
