Mark Hartman is a power electronics systems expert with over 13 years in the semiconductor industry. He joined Powervation in Dec. 2010 as Applications Manager where he formed the applications team in San Jose. Prior to Powervation, Mark worked at National Semiconductor (Santa Clara, Colorado, and Germany) for 12 years where he held several positions including Member of Technical Staff and Applications Manager for the Advanced Power Group. At National Semiconductor, Mark worked with a wide variety of DC/DC topologies and markets including isolated and non-isolated DC/DC converters for the portable, infrastructure, battery management, digital POL, and broad markets. In particular, he spent 5 years architecting, modeling, and developing digital POL regulators which exposed him to a variety of digital control techniques. Mark holds two US patents and has several other patents pending in the power electronics field. He took digital control theory from University of Colorado, Boulder, and holds a BSEE from Virginia Tech where he was a CPES (Center for Power Electronic Systems) student.
