Precision Telemetry
Remote measurement and reporting of telemetry information at the power supply level provides feedback on key parameters such as voltages, current levels, temperature, and energy, and allows reporting of information such as faults and warning flags. With this information, data can be collected and analyzed while the power supply is in development (e.g., qualification, verification) or in the field, and system level interaction can be implemented (e.g., power capping). Several telemetry parameters are supported by standard PMBus™ commands.
Monitoring and Reporting of Telemetry Information
Differential measurements and an 11 bit ADC provide precision system telemetry information of current, voltage, and temperature information, while fault and warning reporting are also provided over the SMBus serial interface. Output current reporting and protection provides ±3% accuracy with continuous temperature correction and supports DCR, RSENSE, and SenseFET. Output voltage reporting provides ±0.5% set-point accuracy. Input voltage reporting and protection provides ±1.5% accuracy. Temperature reporting and protection provides ±5°C accuracy, supports multiple external measurement techniques, and supports internal, on-chip sensing.
